PROJECT MISSION: The European Expo Center Varna (New logistics and re-export hub towards CEE) for import and export, located in proximity to the Varna Ferry Complex, represents a multifunctional and comprehensive international exhibition center of the highest standard in the Varna region. The project is positioned as one of the largest and highest-class expo centers in Europe, with a strong focus on the implementation of high-tech solutions and international standards.
The complex will feature contemporary architecture, combining high-tech design, intelligent management, and environmental sustainability. A number of innovative technologies at an international level will be integrated into its construction, some of which will be implemented for the first time. Intelligent systems for ventilation, energy efficiency, and communications will operate at the highest global technological standards.
The design parameters – high exhibition hall ceilings, high floor load capacity, and мощно електрозахранване – enable the hosting of specialized exhibitions with high technical requirements, including heavy industrial machinery, construction equipment, and the yacht industry.
Each exhibition hall will have an approximate area of 10,000 sq.m, with rationally and functionally designed interior spaces. A total of 13 exhibition halls, located on the first and second floors, will feature wide entrance zones, ensuring efficient access and logistics. The complex will allow multiple exhibitions to be held simultaneously without functional overlap, ensuring high operational efficiency.
The large exhibition spaces provide the opportunity for optimal use of площади and the creation of strong visual effects through specialized exhibition solutions and decorative concepts.
Around the exhibition complex, an integrated environment of supporting functions will be developed – congress connections (enclosed links to exhibition halls), hotels, office buildings, banking services, commercial areas, and museum spaces. The entire infrastructure is designed to fully serve the needs of international business participants in exhibitions, congresses, and economic forums, transforming the area into a complete business and logistics ecosystem hub.
☑️ “EUROPEAN EXPO CENTER – FERRY COMPLEX” represents a high-efficiency investment project with an estimated return on investment (ROI) exceeding 15%, positioned as a multifunctional international exhibition and logistics hub of the highest class for the Varna region and the Black Sea area, with no direct equivalent in Europe.
☑️ PROJECT WITH HIGH LEVEL OF READINESS AND REGIONAL SIGNIFICANCE – fully aligned with the strategic objectives set in the Regional Development Strategy 2014–2020, including the establishment of an integrated logistics cluster between the ports of Varna, Varna Lake, and Beloslav Lake, with extended connectivity to Ruse and Silistra and integration into the Pan-European transport corridors VII, VIII, IX and TRACECA.
☑️ ECONOMIC IMPACT (FORECAST): Expected GDP contribution of up to €3.5 billion (+9%), with a total gross economic effect of approximately €3.9 billion, based on the implementation of Phase I (investment ~€700 million), according to conducted expert analyses.
☑️ INTERNATIONAL BENCHMARK (ROMANIA): In 2012, a comparable project received strategic national priority status; in 2013 it underwent full due diligence and secured European funding for project preparation. By 2015, it reached 60% completion, with full completion planned through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
☑️ BULGARIA’S DELAY: Lag compared to the Romanian model – approximately 5 years.
☑️ ECONOMIC LOSSES DUE TO DELAY:
– For the state: approximately €460,000 / day
– For the business sector: approximately €1,430,000 / day☑️ SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT: Creation of over 50,000 new jobs upon full project implementation.
